Dear colleagues,

First, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to all of you for your active participation in the ENGINEERING MECHANICS 2025 Conference, held from May 12–15, 2025 in Milovy. I hope you enjoyed the vibrant scientific environment, fruitful discussions, and collegial atmosphere.

This year, the conference brought together over 60 participants from the Czech Republic and abroad. The program featured 57 accepted contributions, of which 16 were presented as posters. We were especially pleased by the strong presence of young researchers and students. Their dedication, novel ideas, and inventive approaches are vital to the future of our field. We truly appreciate their efforts and enthusiasm — from engaging presentations to creative experimental work — which added both energy and excellence to the event.

As part of the poster contest, which remains a valued tradition of the event, we were pleased to recognize outstanding contributions in two categories:

  • Junior category: Effects of Obstacles on QCM Biosensor Efficiency: A Parametric Study by Kubíčková L., Studeník O., Plachá M., Forinová M., Isoz M.

  • Senior category: Experimental Exploration of Quasi-2D Turbulence Clamped by Boundary Layers by Duda D., Yanovych V., Klimko M., Mrázová A., Uruba V., Tomášková T.

Congratulations to the awardees, and sincere thanks to all who submitted posters and participated in the competition.

Our main scientific objective — to share novel research ideas and promote meaningful exchange — has, thanks to your enthusiasm and contributions, been richly fulfilled. As always, the spirit of science thrives through openness, dialogue, and the generous sharing of expertise. I deeply appreciate each participant's commitment to this ethos.

At this point, let me also acknowledge and thank those whose efforts ensured the smooth and successful organization of the event:

  • Pavel Cesnek, MSc., MBA., Managing Director of ZDAS, and Radek Vlček, MSc., Technical Manager, for their support and excellent cooperation,

  • Michael Formánek, MSc., for coordinating the collaboration between ZDAS and the organizing committee,

  • All colleagues from the Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics of the Czech Academy of Sciences, for their help with the preparation and smooth course of this year’s conference, and especially to Dr. Jiří Náprstek, the traditional organizer and founder of this conference series, for his long-standing support and exceptional contributions to this professional community,

  • Ms. Viktorie Fischerová, who warmly welcomed you at the registration desk and resolved any issues that arose,

  • All assistants in the lecture halls, for ensuring a smooth and professional presentation experience,

  • Mrs. A. Krejčí, manager of Hotel Medlov, and the entire hotel staff, for their kind and accommodating support,

  • And all others who contributed — in big ways or small — to the success of EM2025.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the EM2025 Conference has concluded. But the spirit of scientific exchange and collaboration continues: the next ENGINEERING MECHANICS 2026 Conference will be organized under the guidance of Ing. Vojtěch Radolf, PhD. We look forward to welcoming you back and will share the dates and further details in due time.

With my warmest regards and best wishes for an inspiring and productive year ahead,

Cyril Fischer,
(EM2025 Chairman)
