In this article the spectral and modal properties of the rotor on contact/ess bearings are investigated. The dynamic behaviour, especially the eigenfrequencies and corresponding modes have been calculated in two different ways, by the FEM ANSYS software in the Institute ofThermomechanics and by the program DYNROT in TECHLAB company. The importance of this analysis is supported by the fact that the first non-rigid body resonance is not far from the working rotation speed 40 000 rpm.
