New opossibilities of creating FEM models from CT/MR data

This article is dealing with problems of creating FEM models of human tissues directly from CT/MR data. The work is connected to grant project CA 1 06/98/KOlg. Main area of aplication of described method and algorithms is in subject ((biomechanics of man" and in medicine. Main topic of the article are ((new possibilities of direct creating of FEM models". Currently we are working on: better automatization of segmentation of tissues from eT/MR data; creating small FEM models with better quality and creating FEM model of group of tissues. OUT future work is: boolean operations with FEM models on mesh level and reduction of number of elements and nodes of FEM models.
