This contribution presents calculational methods and models used in performing stiffness and dynamical analyses of the main flange joint stud tensioner for the nuclear power plant in Lungmen, Taiwan. Its general supplier is GENERAL ELECTRIC COMPANY who has ordered the development and manufacturing of the stud tensioner in the SKODA JS a.s. company. A stud tensioner is an equipment to ensure proper tightening of the main flange joint stud bolts thus achieving its secure leakproofness in all regimes that may occur during the reactor operation lifetime. In addition, it serves as a tool used for disassembling the flange joint and transporting the released head of the reactor pressure vessel. The contribution specifies both key requirements on stud tensioner as they have been set out by the ordering party and the corresponding calculational procedures adopted to ensure reflecting them.
