Optical methods of generation and detection of ultrasound wave in thin-wall structures

Double pulse holointerferometry (DPHl) and laser interferometry were used to study guided waves propagation in thin-wall structures. The full-field visualisation of the displacements caused by generated waves was carried out by DPHI with ruby laser like a source of light and the source of guided waves in different time after impact. The time history of displacements and velocities was detected noncontactly in the points on the surface by vibrometr Polylec. The received signals were compared with the ones from miniature transducers.
