Kinking or local buckling offibers is very dangerous phenomenon, which can threaten the stability of composite structures. This is why mechanical engineers are intensively involved in this problem and try to find ways how to eliminate such an unpleasant situation. Winding reinforcements in composites offer a simple remedy: prestressing of fibers. This cannot be applied when treating classical composites. In our paper we solve push-in problem on a unit cell with periodic boundary conditions; the fiber is a straight cylinder and the matrix enwraps the fiber in such a way that instead of square we consider a hollow cylinder. Since the problem is geometrically and physically axisymmetric, we solve an axisymmetric problem. Moreover, no-tension and Mohr-Coulomb contact conditions are imposed along the interfacial zone. An example follows the theory.
