Non-stacionary stress state of transversally loaded thin and thick plates

The solutions of non-stationary stress state of thick and thin plates transversally loaded on one of their faces are described. By results comparison, the validity limits of thin plate approach can be found. The solution of the thick plate is based on equations of motion of 3D continuum; using basic models from the Kirchhoff to Timoshenko-Mindlin ones the thin plate solutions are obtained.
