The plane stress analysis of the ŠKODA 21 Ab bus suspension beam

The paper deals with the stress analysis of the SKODA 21 Ab bus suspension beam. Basic principles of the analysis are presented and they are used for the evaluation of the plane stress qualities. The time history of the forces of the air spring and damper were applied at the suspension in FEM calculations. The COSMOSIM programme was used/or these calculations. Maximum stresses van Mises were evaluated in each node of FEM model during selected time interval. In chosen node of the mesh the stress analysis was peiformed in detail. In spite of all conditions of the loading. the stress in the investigated node can be considered nonproporlional.
