The Pulse Width Modulation is always accompanied by an output voltage distortion. This is caused by voltage drops on real switching elements and also by using of the necessary dead time between switch-over of both transistors in a branch circuit. This paper deals with the mathematical description of this problem, branch and phase voltage drops are evaluated and presented as vectors in a - b coordinates and in rotating d - q system. In the vector diagram is also a method of the output voltage correcting demonstrated. The correction of these effects can cause better motion regularity and also better efficiency of electric drive.
