The possibility of localising and quantifying a damage in a vibrating structure based on measured vibration amplitudes of the first harmonic in some locations of the structure and utilizing the mathematical model of an undamaged system is shown in the paper. The effect of the damage is modelled by unbalanced force and momentum in the damaged element. The excitation of the system is characterized by the simultaneous effect of dynamic harmonic loads. Simulated measured data were gained by the numerical solution of the linear analytical model based on finite elements method.
