Hydraulic shock absorbers are except tires and air springs the most important suspension design elements, that influence the road vehicles dynamic behaviour. The contribution shows some possible approaches to the shock absorbers modelling in the context of multibody vehicle dynamics. The used shock absorbers models are mostly nonparametric ones and are based on the damping force versus velocity characteristics. The numerical simulations of the low-floor trolleybus ŠKODA 21 Tr multibody model runnig over a normalized obstacle are performed in the alaska software. State dynamic variables are compared for different types of the shock absorbers models.
