Contribution deals with the application of the sparse direct solver in methods of domain decomposition which are used for solution of large systems of equations. The DP—FETI method is assumed and shortly described. The classical LDLT factorization used in domain decomposition methods is based on the skyline storage. The sparse direct solver is based on the compressed row storage. The elimination graph is replaced by the quotient graph. The factorization of the matrix: contains two phases, symbolic and real factorization. The proposed application of the sparse direct solver reduces memory requirements and leads to shorter CPU times.
