Experimental investigation on basic mechanical properties of the sandstone masonry
Bouška P., Vokáč M., Záruba J., Štemberk P.
pages 47 - +6p., full text

Basic mechanical and physical properties of structural material sandstone and cretaceous marl were investigated in the laboratory of the Klokner Institute. These properties were determined on pattern material taken out from localities where most of the masonry elements were quarried and than used in historical structure of Charles Bridge in Prague or used in the act of repairing. Mortar properties would be studied on the specimens prepared according to recipes established by results of physico-chemical and mechanical analysis of historical mortar. The results of investigations are necessary input data for numerical modelling of historical structures.
