Forward damage detection method via genetic algorithms
Čižmár K., Starek L.
pages 63 - +10p., full text

This paper deals with group of damage detection methods, called forward methods. The basic idea of this approach is to create the candidate set of possible damage scenarios, which can include the location and the extent of the damage, i.e. detection on Level 3. The changes in dynamic behavior of the mechanical structure of predicted damage scenario is then compared to the measured modal data and the closest damage case is chosen. Genetic algorithm, as a representative of global stochastic optimization method, is in this paper used as a main tool for vibration based damage detection problem solution. This approach is applied to experimental data obtained from bolted structure measured in various damage states
