A new method and a computer program has been developed for particularized modelling and computing of operational load of straight spur HCR and LCR gears. The gear mesh stiffness and transmission errors are assumed to be non—linear functions of gear tooth kinematics imperfection under transmitted load that take into account relative unloaded tooth errors, load deflections and tooth profile modification. The performed analysis proved that the mesh load influences the contact ratio and internal excitation in gears very significantly and that is why these non-linear properties are taken into account. Consequently the computation of operating load must be performed by iteration procedure.
