pages 97 - +10p., full text

Using a critical analyze method it was found Basquin’s and MansoCoffin’s approaches are not good enough as a ground of the multiaxial fatigue criterion. Searching the mean stress effect on the limit stress/strain fatigue strength it was found the Morrow’s equation is in a quite good harmony with some experiments, but Gerber’s, Goodman’s and SWT approaches do not give tight results. Sine’s multiaxail criterions as well as Fuch’s criterion are not in harmony with some experimental data. A new approximation of the S – N curve was proposed and verified on four dissimilar steel grades. True tensile strength and the endurance limit are taken into account. The endurance limit stress strength condition is also proposed as a function of the mean stress effect.
