In this contribution, a generalized Cam clay model for soil materials is introduced. This critical state model reduces high dilatation and softening behaviour of overconsolidated soils which occurs in classical Cam clay model formulation. More realistic response of the model is achieved by introducing a new yield function in dilatation domain i.e. for OCR > 2. Further, the dependency of the yield function to the Lode’s angle is adopted and non-associated flow rule is assumed. Finally, the reduction of hardening modulus is shown in comparison to the classical Cam clay model formulation.
