This paper deals with a theoretic and experimental analysis of the mechanical properties of the textile materials (warp threads) during the weaving process. The warp stress method in the weaving process is described here. The theoretical part includes the abstract of the dijferent rheologic models of the threads as the viscoelastic material and their mathematical description — it is the expression of the response (tensile force) for the harmonic elongation (excitation function) and the expression of the frequency characteristic of the transfer “elongation to tensile force”. The experimental part describes the special testing equipment for simulation of the warp thread stress during the weaving process, has been devised in the Weaving Laboratory of the Technical University in Liberec. Further, the experimental part describes the method of experimental measurement on the special testing equipment and the measured values are represented graphically here. The measured values are utilised for the calculation of the rigidity modulus of the thread. The results of the experimental measurements and the results of the theoretical part are confronted in the conclusion of this paper.
