Mechanical properties of particular materials (also granular and powdery materials, dispersions, suspensions, liquids with high viscosity,) are usually described by boundary functional dependences of shear stresses and direct stresses – so called material characteristics τ = ± f ( σ ) . These material characteristics are envelope curves of all limiting Mohr´s circles. If the material characteristic is a linear function – all limiting Mohr´s circles are linear affine, if the material characteristic is a non-linear function – all limiting Mohr´s circles and respective stress tensors are non-linear affine. This non-linear affinity can be mathematically described.
