Spray cooling is an integral part of many manufacturing processes. This paper describes the cooling qualities of some coolants different from water. Emulsions, mineral lubricants and salt mixtures can be more beneficial for some industrial applications. On the other hand, there are some applications where even a small amount of salt or oil contaminations can cause serious problems. The research work was focused on finding the relevant relations of cooling regimes and different coolants depending on temperature drops, and then comparing the cooling properties to each other and water as well. A new testing bench and numerical algorithms were developed based on inverse tasks solved within this research.
