Pulsating flow in pipe
L. Hružík
pages 475 - 483, full text

Paper deals with the analysis of pulsating flow of mineral oil in long circular pipe with throttle valve at its end. Pulsating pressure was numerically simulated by software Flowmaster using one-dimensional model of the pipe with continuously distributed parameters, and using the software Matlab SimHydraulics, where the long pipe was divided into segments with concentrated parameters. The pulsating pressure was also measured using experimental equipment for generation of pressure pulses. Amplitude frequency characteristics of pressure changes in the long pipe with throttle valve at its end was determined from numerically simulated and measured time histories.
