Pedestrian level wind near rectangular buildings
M. Jirsák, D. Zacho, P. Michálek
pages 569 - 578, full text

The presentation deals with experiments modeling the pedestrian wind exposure over critical area in front of single rectangular building and along the passage created by two identical objects, including their results. By modifying basic dimensions the analysis gives look on influence of their proportions on flow characteristics in critical areas. The building models being tested in a simulated suburban boundary layer at two main wind angles had fixed base aspect ratio a/b=1/3 and height of h=b or h=2b. Influence of buildings orientation prevailed above that of the building height on wind effects in front of single building as well as that along the passage where the passage width played considerable role, too.
